Bolivian Woman Extradited for Human Trafficking

A Bolivian woman has been extradited from her home country in a case involving the alleged trafficking of her sister for labor exploitation. Police sources informed the Argentine News Agency that the suspect arrived between 2012 and 2013 with her relative, offering her a place to live in a store located in Neuquén province and later in another establishment in Santa Fe. The victim was forced to work in deplorable conditions, suffering sexual and labor abuse, and had insufficient food. The police arrested the foreigner in 2015, and she was later placed under house arrest until 2018, when the justice system revoked that benefit and ordered her immediate capture. However, she fled to the Plurinational State of Bolivia. Investigators confirmed that the accused was living in the city of Oruro, so in 2024, INTERPOL-Bolivia alerted the Federal Division of Fugitives and Extraditions of the Federal Police. It was also learned that the fugitive attempted to renew her national ID, and law enforcement requested the Federal Criminal Court of Santa Fe to issue an international arrest warrant. Authorities coordinated the woman's extradition, and she arrived at Ministro Pistarini International Airport in Ezeiza under the custody of the Directorate General of International Cooperation. The accused is now at the disposal of the intervening magistrate for the crime of human trafficking.
